  • OK, last thing, I allways forgot... The module has a problem - is not Joomfish compatible, so need a little hacking to work.
Do the below hack on your own risk!!!
    Open /modules/mod_gk_image_show/helper.php
    Locate this:
    `c`.`sectionid` AS `sid`,
                 `c`.`catid` AS `cid`,
                 `c`.`title` AS `ctitle`,
                 `c`.`introtext` AS `introtext`,
                 `i`.`name` AS `name`,
                 `i`.`filename` AS `filename`,
                 `i`.`article` AS `article`,
                 `i`.`title` AS `title`,
                 `i`.`link_type` AS `link_type`,
                 `i`.`link` AS `link`,
                 `i`.`content` AS `content`
Add a comma after `content` and this line at the end:
    `i`.`id` AS `id`
Now the whole stuff should look like:
    `c`.`sectionid` AS `sid`,
                 `c`.`catid` AS `cid`,
                 `c`.`title` AS `ctitle`,
                 `c`.`introtext` AS `introtext`,
                 `i`.`name` AS `name`,
                 `i`.`filename` AS `filename`,
                 `i`.`article` AS `article`,
                 `i`.`title` AS `title`,
                 `i`.`link_type` AS `link_type`,
                 `i`.`link` AS `link`,
                 `i`.`content` AS `content`,
                 `i`.`id` AS `id`
The extra line is needed for JoomFish component to locate the translation. Enjoy!

  • Cool, getting closer... But the titles don't show up. Not in English, not in Chinese. I cleared my cache. Using IE9...

  • Hmm, I upgraded JoomFish to the latest, just to be sure. And changed soem of translations too (take a look).
There seems to be problems with showing the chinese characters - not the translated text. That is grabbed correctly from database. What the exact cause is I can only guess - I think it's related maybe with the database collation you have???
No ideea... I'm sure now, that the Jomfish component - and my content elements - are working. Will dig a bit, maybe the gavick module is the culprit???

PS. Seemingly the Cufon was the culprit. with that disabled - and using plain simple HTML - things where working as expected. So, be aware, Cufon is great (I am a big fan of it) but can create such weird problems.

  • Hmm... other translations are working?
It's nothing special about, if you have JoomFish set up correctly, and you can create translations for the sildes - and you have published them ;) - then should work, out of the box.
Yes, please, I would like to take a look to the site.

Denes is Incredible. He is a Yes man and when running a business that is all you want to hear. People who can say "Yes of course that can be done". Denes works well with open minded entrepreneurial people I think who have a vision and he makes it possible technically. There are not many people I can name who are as consistently brilliant as Denes. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
